Last couple of days my Android phone updated to the latest version (12).
Since then I have been uable to compose a message using the onboard keyboard, only option is to speak my message?
Had a look into this problem with Google speak, not found an option to revert back to keyboard.
[I can speak to turn off the voice option but this is only temporary]

Have you checked your keyboard settings Brian? My phone is a Samsung, in the settings it has General management and within that there are a number of keyboard settings. I daren't fiddle with them in case I mess things up but it might be worth having a look at yours to see if there's anything obviously wrong.
Hope you manage to get it sorted out. :)

Well this is interesting, confirming update done Monday last on my Moto g22 which included this 'speak to text' feature.
Keyboard greyed out so no access, unable to deactivate speak to text feature.
As I am deaf unable to hear the spoken word so feature no use to me at all.
Will call in at a local phone shop and seek expert opinion!
