Title: 1841 census Bute
Post by: McKelvieClan on Sunday 20 October 24 10:48 BST (UK)
1841 census Bute very confused.  Difficulty deciding where each household begins and ends.  The second and third column - Uninhabited or Building and Inhabited.  First line of address  then / mark in the inhabited column.  Few names down can have this mark I on the Uninhabited or Building column.  I thought this must mean new household but the I mark is against names of children aged 8 and 10.  Would children as young as this have been living on their own?  Or are they all part of the same household? / mark means new household?
