Title: Southern Necropolis, Lanarkshire
Post by: Chudleigh on Tuesday 01 October 24 18:42 BST (UK)
A Youth Opportunities Project was held in the 1980s to photograph and record the headstones in Glasgow's Southern Necropolis.  The photographs were taken and the recording work started, presumably on a computer at a college or other institution - no p.c.s in those days and no cameras on mobile phones.  The student doing the inputting developed carpal tunnel syndrome and the project was put on hold.  No one knows where the data/photos from the project ended up, but the Family History Society would dearly like to find them.

Please does anyone remember this project and knows where the results are?

Hi Chudleigh, if you go to the site " The only way is Gorbals " there is a  member there called Colin Mackie who knows quite a lot about the Southern Necropolis. I'm not sure if Colin would be able to help you with the information your looking for, it might be worth asking him though. I hope this helps.
