Title: Seeking Ann DEERING born c.1780
Post by: Melbell on Saturday 28 September 24 15:23 BST (UK)
I'm looking for an Ann DEERING who appears on the 1851 Census for Lewes St. John under the Castle.

Ann is described as a widow aged 70, supposedly born in Arlington Sussex.

She is living with her brother James PAYNE a widower aged 59 born in Ditchling.

Please can anyone help me find her birth/baptism and marriage?

Thank you  :)

Oo, BumbleB

Thanks so much! I've been going mad trying to sort this out. I really needed a fresh pair of eyes - couldn't see the wood for the trees!

I'm very grateful for your help.

Hello Mabel

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I can't work this out yet either.

I wonder if Ann is a sister-law, half-sister, cousin or......??

I'll be looking into soon!
