Hello
This is the 5th and last signature from the 1938 RAF Uxbridge postcard that I can't interpret. Can you help?
thanks

E. C. POWEL?

Hello mckha489
Yes I tried that name but didn't come up with a result.
Thanks

Parnell? (but the 'rn' doesn't look quite right to me)
-
Parnell? Everything's worth a try. I can look through the images in Air 78 and if the name appears with a service number in the right range - Bingo.
I'll report back - it takes a bit of time.
Thanks
Martin

No it isn't Parnell. Nothing in Air 78 fits.

Powley? Or Pawley? - if you haven't already checked these.

Hi - just tried Powley and Pawley. Drew a blank.

Paseley?
Tony

Or Pardew?
-
Tried all the ideas, but still working on it. He's the last.
I'm determined to find him.

I finally found an entry that seems to fit.
Ernest Harry Pownall.
His service number is 621889 which is midway between two other sequences of numbers in the list of men. The signature doesn't look like an H as the second initial but I'll accept it for now. Nothing else came close.
I've posted an image of all the names and numbers in my other thread.
