Hello
I'm trying to find out where someone living in Swan Street, Wolverhampton would have been buried in the 1890's. I think it might have been in St Matthews parish but I cannot find any entries for my Ellen Williams or James Williams who died circa 1865/67.
I'm wondering if they could have been Nonconformists as I cannot find baptisms for any of their children but they did marry in a C of E church in the 1856.
I should be grateful for any advice. I've checked all the indexed burials on the Wolverhampton History website but they are not there.

Good Afternoon
It looks like Eleanor/Ellen Mathews was non -conformist.
I can see a possible baptism for her at the Baptist chapel Walsall St Wolverhampton
Eleanor Matthews d of Robert and Eleanor Walsall St Forgeman bapt 1.4.1836 born March 5th
Given that James died first it would have been up to Ellen where he was buried and as you say they are not at Merridale or Wolverhampton district Anglican churches.
So yes I'd look for a non conformist chapel ,maybe Baptist.
I hope that helps .Sorry I just can't spot them
ps James Williams st Peters s of David and Sarah 27.3.1826 a possibility?

thank you so much Ciderdrinker for the speedy reply. I think I will have to look for Baptist burial grounds, as you say.
I think that is her baptism. I haven't gone beyond her marriage to James Williams, as she was his second wife and I'm descended from the first.
James was the son of David and Hannah Williams, baptised in 1822 at Bilson St Leonard's, though they were living in Highfield, Sedgley. I've been trying to track their deaths and burials but so far no luck.
Once again thank you.

think there is some bilston cem deaths on freereg. On findagrave there is a swan bank wesleyan but no entries and bilston cem has some entries. On genuki it gives a list of churches and parishes in a county. If you just put genuki in a search engine you should find it. It also gives years for the church registers, select county and then parish.
