Title: Brownstown place name question
Post by: searchers on Sunday 22 September 24 20:50 BST (UK)
Hi,
I have some written details, passed down through family.

A birthplace is listed as Brownstown, Co Kildare.  The birth was registered in Naas.

Then it says:  Born district Kikeilleri.

I'm curious as to what that part means please?
I've tried googling that word, with some guesses at spelling variations, but with no luck.

Thank you for any ideas.
Charlotte

I’d say it should be Kilcullen one of the Dispensary Districts of Naas.

There is a townland of Brownstown near Kilcullen in the Civil Parish of Carnalway, but there are several townlands of that name in County Kildare.

Of course you could look up the birth and have a look at it
