Title: German internees in WW2
Post by: Paul5 on Tuesday 17 September 24 11:38 BST (UK)
Hello,

Are there any lists of Germans who were interned during WW2 in South Africa?

In fact, the person I am interested in is believed to have died whilst in internship during the war. He was married to a South African who we believe emigrated to West Germany after the war with the children.

Thanks
P

If you give us his name we may be able to find if he had a death notice or left a will.

I think his name was Konrad Schönweiß (Schoenweiss). He was family of an acquaintance rather than mine...

Unfortunately no lists for internees available. I tried looking up that name in the archives but nothing appears.
