Heinrich Hager married Diederica Schmidt in 1822 in Haderslev, Denmark. They had 9 children between 1824 and 1840 all born in Haderslev EXCEPT apparently for one son Christian August Heinrich Hager who was born in 1828 in either Flethe Germany or Hanover Germany (this from various unconfirmed sources). Christian settled in Victoria, Australia, married in 1856 and had 9 children. Any advice please how I might confirm Christian's place of birth in 1828.

I now know that the town name is Flehe not Flethe and I have found it on a map. My problem is finding a birth record for Christian in 1828 in Flehe, Germany when all his siblings were born in Haderslev Denmark. (A family story that his father, although of German origin was in the Military)

I think the name you are looking for is spellt Häger in German
Hannover is spellt with double n
Where did you get the place Flehe from? the only one i know is near Dortmund

I have a marriage certificate for Christian August Heinrich Hager (known as Henry) to Louisa Horn on 1 Nov 1856 in Germantown, Geelong, Victoria, Australia. His birth place is given as Flethe, Germany and her birth place is Pommerzig, Germany. He gave his age as 27, therefore born c1829 and he died in 1896 with an age given as 67 therefore born c1829
Family details initially gleaned from a book "Killaloo to Yan Yan Gurt" 1998 by Mac McCombe, (at State Library of Victoria, Australia) a descendant of Christian and Louisa, but no references noted in the book, but lately I found baptisms/marriages on Ancestry for those in Denmark

Thinking over all the detail, I must admit I collected from Ancestry trees - the exercise of asking for help here, makes me realise that these parents/family do not fit.
Christian August Heinrich Hager was married in Victoria, Australia in 1856 and gave his place of birth as Flehe and his father as Heinrich with no mother named (perhaps she had died) both parents were named for his wife.
When he died in 1896, his parents were unknown. I realised it did not make any sense that a couple would marry in Denmark, have a few children, go to Germany for two years and have a child there and then return to Denmark to live, have more children and die there.
I searched again and found a birth in 1827 in Germany listed as Christine (not Christian)

Many thanks for your efforts and sorry to be a nuisance, but can you clarify the names of the parents of this particular Christian August Heinrich Hager. As I mentioned previuosly I only have Heinrich Hager for a father and no name for a mother.

Thank you again. I have now found another possible child of Friedrich Hager and Luise. I would appreciate any translation. Without a confirmed mother's name of our ancestor (Christian August Heinrich) Hager's on his marriage certificate or death certificate, I need to widen my search to hopefully bring me back to my direct ancestor. (This plan was successful when I couldn't find my Turner ancestor, a common name in England and Australia, so I followed any name even remotely connected to the family and eventually was able to prove a direct link)
