Can anyone confirm the occupation of Sophia London's father in this baptism record please.
He appears to have died aged 38 later that year (1821) in Chatham, Kent and I think this may be John London, Troop Sergeant Major in the Royal Waggon Train b 1783.
Two daughters Sarah Lucy London married Edward Davis 1839 in Charlton, Kent and Mary Ann London married Marmaduke Revell Alldred 1841 in Charlton, Kent. Both list father's occupation as Sergeant Major Waggon Train but he is not described as deceased.

Oh Good work Neale ;D
-
Thank you - that confirms that he is my John London then.
Sophia was buried in Deptford, Kent in July 1821 aged 7 months. Church St, widow (presumably describing mother) which fits with John London's burial 23 Mar 1821.

Could the first word be “Sev.t”, i.e. servant?
-
As the father is in the RVB, then could the first word be Ser.t = Sergeant?
-
A pension record available at FindMyPast has him as “Troop Serj Major”.
It states that he is rendered unfit "in consequence of being afflicted with severe rheumatism from hard(?) duties in the Peninsula in the Years 1808. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13, and 14."

Yes, I'm going with Sergeant in Royal Veteran Battalion which confirms it's the same John London in Royal Waggon Train.
Thank you everyone.
