Hi,
I've been posting about my research on Edward Trahar in the Cornwall sub as I think he was born there, but I'm pretty sure he died in Middlesex.

Annoyingly for me he went and died before 1837! His son Henry was born in 1835 and by 1840 Edwards wife Jane had married again as a widower. So Edward must have died between 1835-1837. I've searched GRO, FamilySearch, Ancestry and any other mainstream genealogy sites but haven't been able to find a match. I did find an Edward Traher who died in 1838 but at 68 he is probably too old to be my Edward - plus he had a different profession:
-1838 - Edward Traher dies at 68 due to "trauma/tumour in the face" in Falmouth, Cornwall [Occupation Shoe Maker; Record: Death Cert].
Here's what I know about my Edward:
-1827 - Marries Jane Underwood at Saint Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey [Record: Marriage Banns]
-1828 - Daughter Mary Ann baptised at St John Horsleydown, Bermondsey [Occupation: Carpenter; Record: Baptism]
-1831 - Son Edward John baptised at Christ Church With St Mary and St Stephen, Spitalfields [Abode: Osborne Place; Occupation: Carpenter; Record: Baptism]
-1835 - Son Henry baptised at Christ Church With St Mary and St Stephen, Spitalfields [Abode: Brick Lane; Occupation: Carpenter; Record: Baptism]
So based on the fact that he baptised his two most recent children at Christ Church and his two most recent abodes are listed as being nearby Christ Church, I wonder if he was buried there?
Any information or suggestions on where else to look would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
James

Hi
Sorry I can't spot him either but then I can't see a burial for his father Edward also in Bermondsey who died 1851-1861.
Based on 1851 census Bermondsey
Edward Traher 67 carpenter Cornwall
Grace 66 same St Gluvais
The couple who fingers crossed are his parents married St Gluvias 27.7.1802 and he was of Perranarworthel.Wit Hobeson Woolcock and James Hocking
So Edward junior must have born after that but only child I can see is
Elizabeth 28.7.1805 Perranarworthal.
Grace was buried Bermondsey form the Workhouse 27.7.1862 and is a widowed lodger at 9 Balaclava Road 1861.
Woolcock would be the grandmother Elizabeth Woolcock married Edward Trahar 1.10.1781 Perranarworthal and son Edward bapt 29.10.1782.
But I've tried Ancestry Anglican and non conformist and FindMyPast and no luck for burials for either Edward Traher.

Hi Ciderdrinker,
Thanks for looking into it!
Strange that we can't find either of the Edward's death records. I guess one reason is the variety of ways Trahar/Traher/Trahair/Trahear can be spelt compounded by handwriting recognition mixing up letters giving none obvious interpretations of the names, such as Grabar!.
I also can't find any other children of Edward and Grace except for Elizabeth. Not impossible for them to have only had 1 or 2 children but you'd usually expect them to have had more in those days.
Do you have anymore info on the 1861 residence? I can't find them on Ancestry
