Hello!
I'm hoping someone may be able to help as I'm having no luck with finding information on-line.
It concerns:
William Cyril Dyer, born 4 August 1898 in Wiltshire.
He was serving as Farrier Lance Bombardier Service No.1053569 with the 91st Field Battery, Royal Artillery, when he died on 8 June 1929 of sunstroke in Ferozepore, India, at the age of 30 years.
He had previously served with the Somerset Light Infantry 42264
and the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry 47158.
The family has a photo of his headstone.
Can anyone give me any information at all to help me build up a picture of this man's military service, please?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Fliss

His army records will be either with the National Archives or still with the MoD. You can apply for a copy:

Thank you for that suggestion; I will certainly follow it up.

If anyone knows what the R.A. was doing out in Ferozepore, India, in June 1929, I'd love to know!

Garrison duty. Ferozepore was a major British Army base.
