Howett? or Hewett?

Thanks so much for that....I had in my mind "Sheriff"...and just couldn't get past that for some reason!. Will have a look for a Hewitt or Howett marriage.
Cheers

I agree that it seems to end in "ett".
Not sure of the first letter ...... Olevett?? or Hewett??
-
Tried the Hewitt and Howett and variations, will try the Olivett.....I can't find any combination with Bridget with either Hewitt or Howett or even Howell. I do have the SMI which is a great tool, but it may be that they married other than Sussex, although the rest of the family seemed to have either been at All Saints Parish or St Clements parish areas......but will carry on!.
Again, my thanks.

Thank you so much for your detective work with finding Bridget's name.
Bridget's husband Richard didn't die until 1645 so it appears that John was a widower as well. Now the big question....where did they marry? They are not mentioned in the SMI, but thats not to say they could have been missed.
Time to check the online data for around that time. St Clements seems to be the parish of choice for the family but you never know!.
Once again, my sincere thanks.
