I am trying to find more information about Dr. John Jardine who graduated from medical school at the University of Edinburgh in 1814. His parents were John Jardine and Margaret ??. They emigrated to Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1821 or 1822. Looking for more information about his parents who both died on Prince Edward Island.

I’m not sure if this is the correct family but worth a look.
Birth/baptism on https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk free to view, small fee to view records.
JOHN JARDINE 15/06/1798 Lochmaben
JOHN JARDINE/MARGARET COWAN
8 miles from Ecclefechan, Dumfriesshire.
A further 10 children there for John & Margaret Cowan 1776 – 1801.
I do not see a marriage in Scotland for John & Margaret but below may be a transcription error?
JOHN JARDINE to MARY COWAN DATE ASSUMED
21/05/1775 Lochmaben
You could check the Kirk Session Records on the above site.

Thanks for the help. It is definitely not John J and Margaret Cowan line as I have them traced to New Brunswick. I found another marriage on the site you suggested for John J and Margaret Halliday at Dumfries but no records of children.
I am pretty sure the Dr. John I am looking for is John J born March 19, 1979 at Hoddam, which I think includes Ecclefechen.
The site you gave me lists other siblings for Dr. John are Mary born, 1799, David born 1802, Margaret born 1804 and William born 1807. All of these list their father as John Jardine and no mother is listed. All are listed as born at Hoddam.

Have you seen this website?

Yes, I have seen the Islandregister website and the information on Dr. John Jardine on this website isn't correct. The ancestors listed are not his line and his date of birth is not correct. He was born on March 19, 1797 at Ecclefechen, Scotland and was the son of John Jardine and Margaret ? , who died on PEI and I have info on their death from newspaper records.
