You have already asked about this family and we have queried that you have given the place as Croydon, Essex.  Croydon is in Surrey

Essex is north of the River Thames.
Croydon is South of the River.

Hi Elwyne

"the Simms family"  tells us nothing.  Which "Simms" family??  Names/birthyears.  What census do you have them on?  Please post full details as requested on the post shown above.  The 1939 register has over 200 entries for that surname in Surrey so how do we determine which ones you are researching?

You have been asked on previous posts to ensure you give sufficient info but yet again you just post "the Simms family"

Sadly - we are not mind readers nor do we have crystal balls.  This is your FH & if you need help you need to ensure you give sufficient info

You were also advised that Croydon is in SURREY not ESSEX but have again posted on the Essex board

Please see replies on the thread above re no birth etc based on the minimal info given

Not that uncommon a surname, but on a wild chance, there's a Marica Lovesta Simms whose ashes are in rosebed WG11 plot 3634 at Croydon Crematorium. Ancestry has: born 23-Jun-1940, death registered May 1998 in Sutton, not far away and also formerly in Surrey, now Greater London. Not in the Crematorium's online Remembrance Book, but  there's a charge for entries. No family tree on Ancestry.

The only person I can find anywhere close to Frank Simms b abt 1930, Is a Sims (one M) b in Croydon district (SURREY) in 1927. mmn Lambert. He appears with parents in 1939, so presumably now deceased but I haven't found a death record. His mother was presumably widowed or divorced when she married his father as she marries with the surname Ballantyne. Her previous marriage was in Sussex.
No connection with Roydon, ESSEX or Croydon, South Cambs - which is only a dozen or so miles from nearest point of Essex.

just down the road from me. Everyone round here just refers to it as Croydon, never Croydon cum Clopton. Clopton disappeared over 500 years ago, just fields now.
