Hi all,
I am trying to find the details of any Drysdale (Drisdall etc.) settlers in Colonial America for the period 1630-1690.
I have found a couple early settlers (1650s, 1660s and 1680s) but the destruction of many early James City County and Charles City records in the Civil war has left a big gap in what is now available to check online, however I am slowly but surely going through all possible records for that period and crossing them off my list after they are checked.
One brickwall I have come up against is the paywall associated with the authoritive publication "Directory of Scottish Settlers in North America, 1625-1825" by David Dobson. I think it is possible to view this via Ancestry but I don't have a subscrition and I would be very annoyed if I paid for a subscription just to find that there were no relevant Drysdale records listed in the period 1630-90.
So this is my look up request:
Can anyone with access to the publication I mention above, tell me if there are any Drysdale (Drisdall et.) records listed for the period 1630-1690. If yes, then I will probably either buy the book or a subscription and if no, I can cross it off my list and happily move on.
Many thanks and best regards

The Drysdales mentioned in that work immigrated in the 1810s-1820s. There was no one mentioned from the 1600s or 1700s.

Dear AnnaBme.
That was very quick, thank you very much!
I'm glad I didn't buy the book or pay for a subscription - I would have been very annoyed.
Best regards

You're very welcome! If you ever DID want that series (There are multiple volumes.) you could try InterLibrary Loan. There are many libraries in the UK that have them. That way you wouldn't need to purchase them. 😊
