Hi does anyone know of a RAF facility around the Glasgow area that repaired Lancaster Bombers. My late father was station there during WW2. He was an electrician and all he ever told us that he helped re wire the bombers.

Have you applied for your late Father’s service record as that will show where he was stationed ?

Thank you all for your replies. I am going to apply for my late fathers RAF records. Having spoken to my older brother he remembers our father referring to the place as 'Cowglen'. The aircraftmen worked in 12 hour shifts and had no accommodation so had to sleep on the hangar floor. We remember him saying that whilst working through the night there was no canteen facilities no hot food etc. He was very bitter about his time there and would never visit Scotland again.I did wonder if it was somewhere near Cowcaddens.
