For years I have used the Quick Links set up to access the various censuses etc.
Today - my list has suddenly disappeared & there is a message saying that the Quick links is being retired & you can’t add any (which I know dates back a year or more). BUT existing links will still be available
Does anybody know where they have gone & how to get them back on the Home Page?
-
Carole, I don't think you can get them back on the Home Page.
I put all my Quick Links as bookmarks in one folder, and put the folder on my Bookmarks Toolbar. Works brilliantly, never looked back!

Wish I had done that now. Will have to compile them all again & do what you've done. Just annoyed that Ancestry removed them without warning.
-
I haven’t been able to add to them in a long time but my existing Quick Links remained. I use them a lot. But just now a notice appeared on Ancestry’s home page saying they will all be removed November 1. Really, really annoying.

Mine suddenly reappeared a few days after posting but yesterday got the 1st November warning so need to follow advice from PrawnCocktail

Yes, great advice. Thank you, PrawnCocktail.

It's not the first time they have tried to get rid of the feature. A couple of years before the announcement they had a go at forcing a redesigned home page on us, and that omitted Quick Links. I complained, and my home page was reinstated.
I converted all my Quick Links to Bookmarks/Favourites in my browser soon after they announced that they would be going away.
Because I've been using my new scheme, I had not checked until just now whether they still existed.

I can't seem to save my Ancestry Quick Links to the bookmarks bar on my computer anymore. No problem a few weeks ago but now it won't work. I try to copy/paste but I can only save the link address, not the title of what it is. That would make the list of Quick Links unusable. Time is running short for Quick Links to be removed on 1 November. Can anyone help? How did you move your Quick Links to your bookmarks bar? I'm on a desktop, Windows 10.

I opened each Quick Link in turn and saved the bookmark, giving it a sensible name. It's easier if you use right-click and Open link in New Tab, because you can keep track of where you are up to.

Thanks very much for the quick reply. Will give it a try.
