There is only one place where I have found Ann Meals my 6xgt grand mother and that was in 1739 when she married Edward Faulkner in Cornwell. The couple then went on to have 10 children baptised in Combe.
I am wondering if the surname was accurately reported, and was she originally from Cornwell? Can anyonehelp find any other records of her before the marriage
Many thanks for any help

The marriage took place in Long Combe, both of this parish. (transcribed as Cornwell ::) )

The Bishops Transcript on familysearch has missing records 1670-1720 (plus various others). I did see a baptism for a Mary MEASY, daughter of Thomas in 1721 - not the same name, but similar. :-\

And a Thomas, son of Thomas and Elizabeth MEASEY in 1724.

A few others in the BT as well.

Actually, there is this baptism - Mary, daughter of William and Elizabeth MEALS, 7 March 1730.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSNT-D92M-8?view=index&action=view
So there is a family of MEALS in Long Combe.
Modified to add:
Is this another (hard to read) - "Mary, daughter of Edward MEALS and Mary his wife was buried" 5 July 1730
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSNT-D92M-8?view=index&action=view
There is also a baptism for a Richard, son of William and Elizabeth MEALS 24 April 1739 (buried 31 July 1739)
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSNT-D9KY-X?view=index&action=view
A few other children of William and Elizabeth MEALS baptised later too. When Elizabeth (wife of William MEALS) is buried on 12 June 1744, he is described as "day labourer".

Many thanks for your answers they explains why I have now found as ell as the original data I hadf or Cornwell on FindMyPast, a record for page 44 of the Combe register shown on an Anc.. tree both with the same people and dates I wondered if it was banns in one place marriage in the other.
William and Elizbeth 's Mary is too youg to marry in 1739 but may well be a relation.
I think Edward Fa(u) lkner may have been baptised in Sandford, St Martin, in 1721.
-
Yes, I didn't think any of the baptisms were your Ann, however just wanted to show that were some MEALS families in Long Combe at the time. Shame there are missing pages from the bishop's transcript. Not sure if the parish register is still available anywhere, doesn't appear to be on Ancestry.
-
I didn't think you did but they may turn out to relate so its good to make a note. I notice several trees on Anc..have Edward down a differe mt place, nearer Burford I think Sandford St Martin seems nearer Combe what do you think? I am so grateful for your help.

I can see the baptism of Edward, son of Edward and Elizabeth FALKNER at Sandford St Martin (8 miles from Combe) on 17 Sept 1721.
Also a baptism of Edward FALKNER, son of Leonard of Ramsden (5 miles from Combe) 23 May 1719. (baptised at Shipton under Wychwood)
It is possible either is the Edward who married in Long Combe in 1739, however I'm not necessarily sure, particularly as there are missing pages from the Long Combe parish register and bishop transcript.
Do you have a burial for Edward?
-
I'm sure you have these - children of Edward and Ann FAULKNER baptised at Long Combe (interested to see if naming helps determine who Edward's parents may be).
15 June 1740 Mary
27 Feb 1741/2 Ann
27 Jan 1743/4 Edward (bu 17 Feb 1743/4)
9 Mar 1744/5 Richard
16 Apr 1749 Catherine
11 Aug 1751 Elizabeth
2 Apr 1754 John (bu 10 Apr 1754)
13 Apr 1755 Edward
5 Mar 1758 Jane (bu 28 Feb 1760)
13 July 1760 Jane
So no Leonard amongst the children.
