Up to the end of WW1 when soldiers were moved to a different regiment they were given a new service number by their new regiment. This was discontinued in 1920? and after this a service person kept their number throughout their career.

DM2 = Mechanical Transport Learner (Army Service Corps)
Not sure about "EMT".
There is CMT = Mechanical Transport Special Reserve (Army Service Corps)

UK, World War I Service Medal and Award Rolls, 1914-1920
Samuel Bryson
Regimental number EMT 63795
Previous regiment served with R.A.S.C. DM2/170673 Rank - Private
Written in the next column in what looks like pencil is 'No Medals'
In the remarks column 'Re-enlisted 18-2-20" "Deserted 15-6-1920. This would explain him not receiving the British and Victory medals his Medal Roll Index card says he was entitled to.

EM was the prefix used by the ASC for a re-enlisted man.
T = Transport.
