Title: Very weird bug on Ancestry DNA - person listed with other peoples' trees
Post by: melba_schmelba on Saturday 15 June 24 22:11 BST (UK)
Has anyone else seen this? On random DNA match pages, it tells me that the match has 10+ trees, when in fact they usually only have one if I go to their profile page. And the trees that are listed, are trees that I am an editor of, and nothing to do with that match? What is going on ::) ?????

OK, I worked out they are not random matches ::), they are users that have shared their DNA matches with me, but it makes no sense whatsoever that trees that I am editor of (or my own trees) are all shown as their trees  :o ?????!!

Ancestry has being acting odd for me too this weekend. When logged in, if I go to the Memories tab, there is an Ancestry member's username at top left of page and pictures which seem to be from their tree, are appearing in the Gallery section at bottom of page. I have absolutely no idea who this Ancestry member is!

Also, if I try to view the profile of anyone in anyone's tree, I can see their Life Story page, but their Facts page is blank except for a message saying:

"We're sorry, this person's facts information is temporarily unavailable.
You can try reloading the page, or come back later."

Refreshing and/or coming back later has made no difference (nor has clearing browser cache or using a different browser).

Did you log out and back in again?  That worked for me after yelling at the screen for a few hours.

For my issues it didn't make a difference earlier, but have tried again since you posted and this time the 'Facts' section on profile pages are now working, but the mystery Ancestry member's username and gallery on the Memories page is still there.

Ancestry was glitchy for me yesterday. When i clicked on some record links, i was getting completely different records (i.e. a East Sussex Marriage record would give me a US census for a different person).

Tried logging out and logging in, no change :o. It just makes no sense to me, what do my trees, or ones I am editor of even have to do with the DNA and DNA match sharing??!

Very similar to my own research attempts yesterday -- Ancestry came up with some very weird  answers to my search criteria. Tried rebooting my PC but to no avail. Find My Past came to the rescue for my Census searches.

I’m giving up on Ancestry. I’ve added marriages photos stories and helped people who have contacted me over the years before this happened. So now I’m going give them a miss now as I cannot see items I have entered for years

Despite me reporting at post #4 above that after logging out and back in, the Facts page in Profiles was working fine again (which it was), this afternoon I am back to the:

"We're sorry, this person's facts information is temporarily unavailable.
You can try reloading the page, or come back later."

message.
