Hi,
Maybe it's me!!!
I have often used SP in the past but looking at the records now I only see an option to purchase "CERTIFICATES" at £15.
Not "COPIES"
Am I missing something?

Two options on the right side of the search result: Buy Credits & Order Certificate. May be a browser issue?
-
Hi, what date is the record you are looking at? If it is recent you can only get a certificate.

the record guides give the criteria for availability of digital records

Hi,
If it's a browser error it's been there a while.
I did send a query through the site some time ago but no reply.
I did check on older records and it all looks to be the same.

Summary of fees available here www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/our-charges
This page includes this line:
High quality TIFF images from the Image Library cost £15.00 each (excluding VAT). Payment can be made by Worldpay using a debit or credit card.
Not sure what this refers too :-\
If I click to order a certificate outside of the online viewing period, I get to the order screen and this shows the cost to be £12.00 (£15.00 if you require the priority service).

Hi Forfarian,
I have read that page but when it comes to choosing a record it only offers "Certificates" at £15.

Very odd.
If you want a copy of a post-cut-off certificate, first find the entry you want in the birth, marriage or death index. If it's after the cut-off date, you'll get a listing with 'No image' against it, and then 'Order certificate'. Click on that and then on 'Add 1 to basket'.
Then click on 'Added to basket' and lo and behold, the charge is £12.

Maybe this website page should be read. See Fees halfway down.

If you already own credits you will be given the choice of buying either a copy or else buying a certificate.
The minimum of 30 credits cost £7.50. This will buy 5 or 6 copies of the records you want. There is no requirement to pay £12 just for a simple copy.

That is correct for historic certificates but if the certificate you want is more recent than the cut-off dates* it costs the full twelve pounds.
*100 years for births, 75 years for marriages, 50 years for deaths.
