Hi,
I am trying to find info on Robert Seddon, he was a player on the English Rugby team in the 1880's but he passed away while the team was in Australia in 1888. I believe he was born in 1860. My great grandmother was Demaris Seddon who was born in Pendlebury or Salford in 1844. I am trying to figure out if there is a relationship as either a sibling or cousin between Demaris and Robert. Robert was also from the Salford area. Demaris may have been an illegitimate child born to Margaret (Longworth) Seddon.
Thank you

At first glance it would appear there is no relation as I do not recognize any of the names.
It also does not appear any of the people I can find in our tree lived in Bolton or had any connection to it. All strictly in the Pendlebury area. Even when Robert was in Greengate if my geography is correct that is closer to Manchester proper than Pendlebury is.
I have read some newspaper letters that indicate the youngest Robert's father died when he was 2 and he was in and around Swinton where some of the Seddons in my tree were. If there is any connection I think it is further back than I thought,

I've come across that a few times assuming there had to be an error somewhere. Damaris Seddon the illegitimate daughter of Margaret Seddon is my 2nd great grandmother but I had to stop and think a bit when I came across an Edward Seddon who married a Damaris Chapman.
Unless I made an error somewhere Edward Seddon who was my 4th great grandfather was the father of Margaret Seddon and married Elizabeth Longworth.
