Do you have Mary Ann and Jonathan on later census if so what is Mary Ann’s marital status and
-
There is a William Thompson buried 7 November 1877 in Cockermouth Cemetery age 57 or 58
Could that be him?
-
There is a death announcement for the burial in 1879.
At Market Street, Cockermouth, on 5th inst., Mr William Thompson, aged 58 years.
The 1871 Census has a William Thompson of the same age in Cockermouth, but he was still there in 1881.

Hello
Thank you all
I cannot trace anyone , William, Mary or Jonathan in the 1881 census
In 1871 Willam, Mary Ann and Jonathan lived at Geo..Street South, Botchergate, Carlisle. I cannot find this address in the 1881 census.
I have found several Mary Anns who could be William's wife but none are agricultural workers as Mary Ann is described in the 1871 census.
Now looking at deaths of Mary Ann to see iif that gives any clue to where she and William may have lived previously.
Best
