Hi, not been on the forum for a while but hope someone will be kind enough to help. I am searching for the family of Edith Annice Jones born 3/11/1904, I have found her on 1911 census at Dawley but not with her parents, I know there is not much to work with but any help would be great.

MMN = Franks.
In 1921 she is listed as "adopted daughter" in the household of John Kent (born 1871). He and his wife are also on the 1911 census with Edith (listed as "Niece").
If you purchase her GRO digital image pdf it will give you the parents names and details.

Possible marriage for parents? Maybe... ???
Marriages Dec 1898
Jones James Wellington, Sh. 6a 1500
Possible spouse is Annie Franks.

Thanks very kind to reply, interesting the adopted aspect, as per usual more questions to ask ! Many thanks.
-
There was another Jones/Franks marriage in Madeley in 1902 - Fred Jones & Mary Hannah Franks
GRO online shows a number of Jones/Franks births in Shropshire from 1900 so as Ashtone advised - the birthcert is needed
-
Thanks for your help I'll dig round and see what turns up.
-
Don't think it's Fred & Mary Hannah in Madeley - I've looked at 1911 and there are no children unaccounted for
-
Similarly for James and Annie - they have two children in Shifnal and he's with his second wife in 1911, no children missing
-
1901
James Jones 24 b St Georges Shifnal coal miner
Annie 34 b Dawley
James Henry 1 b St Georges Shifnal - gro online shows mmn Franks
Piece 2523/51/41

Looks like Annie died aged 38 June qtr 1909 & James married Elizabeth Walford in December qtr 1909
He seemed to prefer older women - Annie was 10yrs older & Elizabeth 6yrs older
-
Working from 1911
George Darrel is head of household, so Edith is his niece
A George Darrell married Elizabeth Franks in 1872. So presumably Edith's mother is related to Elizabeth

Thanks for all the info, the earlier census will help filling in some extra detail once again many thanks.
