Title: Dalbeth cemetery common ground

I am trying to locate my mother in laws brother who died in 1951 aged 3 weeks who is in common ground looking at maps i can see 3 areas can anyone help point me in the right direction

Hi Dee,

Sadly I've been in the same position as you in trying to narrow down specific areas.  There are other threads on her such as https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=678193.0 which will give you more information but from my own efforts I can tell you what I found out.

I spoke to a gravedigger who used to work there and to his knowledge he says all three areas were used at the same time.  I noticed common ground burials from about 1920 onwards had a number next to them and wondered if he knew what areas used the numbers but he didn't know.  He did say typically graves where double width and deeper than usual with eight (sometimes more burials in them).

When visiting now I take three lots of flowers as I have a lot of family in these sections so I figure I'll have some people in each of the three sections.
