Hello,
I'm looking for the Birth of Edgar Lloyd HOWLETT born 29.12.1924. I believe in Gurnsey.
I am looking for his parents.
The information I have comes from his Immigration papers to Australia in 1950.
He also states that he was a Stoker Mechanic - Service number 772759 on the HMS Victory- discharged 30.11.1947. I would be interested in finding his Service Record too.
He was a Market Gardener in Gurnsey until 1949. The last address he worked was Maison de Bas Castel Gurnsey for Mr. A. Rousell.

ADDED I have looked at 22 trees of Howlett in Guernsey and Edward Alexander appears the only one the right age to be a possible dad for Edgar

if Edgar had children do you know their names - maybe I can find a tree for one of them ???

If Edgar was only born 1924 & single when he arrived in Australia in 1950 - any children are likely to still be alive

Edgar had one child- a son who is still alive in Australia. It is this son that I am looking for information for. He knows nothing about his father as his parents separated when he was about 18 months old. He did marry in Australia in 1961 to Rose CROTHERS who is deceased.
I have a tree on Ancestry.

I don't have the Marriage Certificate. I have suggested that the son purchase it.
It may have the parents names on it.

Will post in a few minutes but he must have returned to England at some time between 1950 - 1957 as there is another outgoing record for him & another possible one in 1946
He was b 29.12.1923 according to findagrave & one passenger list

Mother: Emma Mary GILES
Birthplace: Orangeville, St Peter, Port Guernsey, Channel Islands.

His father was b 1900 & is on the Channel Islands 1911 with his parents

An Emma Mary Ann Giles was born March qtr 1900 Poplar (London) mmn Harman but she married in England & can be followed via censuses etc so can be discounted
