Who is 'of Annandale'?

Where is Symeon Helliday in?

As often is the case, place names are not always clear unless you know the area involved.

It was ringing a bell but I couldn't quite remember it. Your response has jogged the grey cells and i've found i looked into this 12 years ago!! I recovering old ground.

Previous responses of where Symeon was from were in the ballpark of Milcommoss or Melcommoss or Milcamos/Milkamos/Milkimoss

In a place name a -moss ending would make sense, but it would not be usual to write ss like that at the end of a word. Are there any other examples in the testament of words ending in -ss to compare?
