Was greatly amused by the description of the cause of death on this death certificate (Scotland, 1864).

Was he bouncing around in his prime 11 days ago?

I think it means that he was under the doctor's care for 10 days.

Quite probably, but it just struck me as amusing that it is worded that way, as if old age had come upon him as suddenly as a fever or other illness.
