I'm back with another testament dative. - Niniane Halyday in Leithenhall.
This looks easier to read and i've been able to pick out a number of names and links which is what i'm mostly interested in at this point. Can anyone confirm and add anything i've missed regarding how the people are connected? The further down the document the harder I found it.
7th line - James Halyday of Gillenbierig his brother
9th line - John Halyday his son
line 11 - 12 - John Halyday son to Christopher Halyday brother of defunct
Line 16 - is this 'said' Christopher?
Line 19 - Symon Halyday his brother
Line 20 - 21 - William ? in ??
Line 22 John ___ in Tinerwood
Line 24 Thomas ____ in _____
Line 25 - 26 Marion Halyday ____ to Johne ____ _____ son in Moffat and ____
Line 27 James _____ in _______
Line 28 said James Halyday _________________

I have just transcribed it without explaining any of the words (eg a blak halked quoy coddoche is a young quey coloured black with white spots, a lairdener mairt is a beast slaughtered for eating over the winter, and hoggis are sheep, not pigs). Let me know if there is anything you are not sure about.
J c iiij xx xj lib. vj s 8 d (£100 + ££11 = £191 6/8d)
Ij c Iiij xx lib. (£200 + £4X20 = £280)

I bow to GR's expertise. ;)
This site may be of interest for all those particularly Scottish terms, if you've not seen it before.
I found it incredibly useful when doing lots of Scottish sasines and testaments.

GR2 has gone above and beyond. Thank you so much. I would have been happy with the names and places but that awesome. I think some of the other bits I could interpret of Google but I'm really just trying to connect the families right now.
I'm happy I got most of the Halydays. I assume there is not mention of Marion Halyday's relation or Jonne Davidsone other to themselves?

Thanks for the links Goldie61

There is no indication on this page of any relationship between Ninian and Marion. Marion is defined as the wife of John Davidson. That does not preclude her from being a sister, for example, as there is no need to define her twice, by mention both of her husband and of her relationship to Ninian.
