Elizabeth Murray was born 1820 in St Anns Soho. She married Joseph Laurence Henderson in 1846 The will of her father James Murray of 1866 gave the address as 36 Castle Street and his occupation as carpenter. I am trying to establish who Elizabeths mother was but am unable to see her in 1841 census or find a baptism for her.
I would therefore appreciate any help or pointers anyone can give me please.
Many thanks

1841 Great Castle Street, Marylebone
James Murray 50 Builder
Sarah 45
Elizabeth 20
James and Sarah not born in County, Elizabeth yes.

1851 Great Castle Street, Marylebone
James Murray 60 Retired Builder born Marylebone? (1841 says not born in County)
See Joseph Lawrence Henderson with wife and apprentices/ servant Ellen Conner, the next entry is Elizabeth's father.
1861 He is 70 retired Builder and still at Great Castle Street.
He was 74 when he died so born circa 1791 (he died 22 April 1865)

Sarah may not be her mother!
There is a marriage St Marylebone by license James Murray WIDOWER to Sarah Whitehead spinster
30 December 1824
ADDED
See if the license still exists, it may give more information.

James Murray to Sarah Mears 11 August 1822 St Anne's Soho Westminster.
Right area but if Elizabeth born 1820 ? she is consistent in the census returns.

Thank so much for your replies.
What you have given me ties in with my other research in Scotland when I was tracking my William Murray whose parents I believe could be James (carpenter) & Christian Fraser. So I was really hoping to find Elizabeths baptism with mother Christian so I could confirm & link the family together following James move to London. The joys of family history - the pieces are all there, you just want that last piece.

The Parish records for St Ann's in Soho are at the City of Westminster Archive Centre.
It includes marriage licenses and parish records from 1600 -1900
You may request a look up to see if she was baptised there.
