Title: Merging Two Different Trees on Ancestry.
Post by: mickgall on Thursday 16 May 24 13:55 BST (UK)
Hello All

Does anyone know if it's possible to merge two different trees together on Ancestry, (I know how to merge people). I've managed to find common ancestors that link the trees and rather than having to input all the info manually into a new tree I'm hoping I can just merge them.
Kindest Regards
Mick

Their support pages say not.

Not possible on Ancestry.

You can download both to your own family history software program and merge there and then upload the merged tree.

If you are going to do it manually on Ancestry keep the largest tree and then manually add people from the other tree onto that.

It is always useful to use the search function, it saves us having to write chapter and verse again when the question has already been answered as is the case.
