1871 shows Deborah was 10yrs older than Jane - could Abraham have remarried between the 2 births?
Deborah Brown Mathew
Baptism Date 10 Dec 1800 Blandford Forum
Father Abrm Mathew Mother Ann Mathew

From the Burial Register :
Ann , wife of Abraham MATHEWS , of Blandford aged 46 was buried 30th August 1816, after the birth of Jane.

There are other births attributed to Abraham and Elizabeth at Blandford Forum :
Abigail 25 Feb 1805
Mary 2 Oct 1802.
(Jane 11 Feb 1810)
Abraham and Ann have Peter 18 Apr 1807 , Sarah 3 Jun 1798 and Debora Brown 10 Dec 1800.

Abraham and Ann also had Isabella in 1814.
I wonder if perhaps the mother’s name was Ann Elizabeth or Elizabeth Ann and she used Ann or Elizabeth at different times?

My thoughts exactly. I cannot find a burial / death for Elizabeth Mathew.

Geneanet has Abraham to Elizabeth Hussey in Cann ,Dorset
and Abraham to Ann Davy in Blandford Forum - Cann to Blandford is 9 miles - so maybe Elizabeth was from Cann ?...just a shot in the dark really?????

The marriage of Abraham Mathew and Elizabeth Hussey appears to have been in 1741. It’s possible they are the parents of the Abraham who married Ann Davy but I haven’t found a relevant baptism at the moment. It doesn’t look like Elizabeth could have been Abraham’s wife but if the minister asked for mother’s name at the baptism he could have possibly said Elizabeth….if she indeed was his mother and he misunderstood the request.
