Hi all,
I'm hoping someone could be able to narrow down a search for me if possible please.
Family letters have my 3x Great Grandfather, Michael Shaw (from Ireland) (and his family, youngest born in 1841, London) staying at the Castle of Good Hope sometime after 1841, apparently connected to the Royal Engineers.
Is there a particular regiment under a name other than the Royal Engineers that may have been sent to the Castle with the Engineers? Is there a list somewhere of regiments at the Castle during particular times?
Somehow the family ends up in Montreal afterwards.
Thanks in advance!

Good evening,
I don't know why the 2nd link doesn't work. A lot of it was just repeating the 1st link but it also had a list of regiments. I will have another search.
