Researching the family of Nellie May Keen (I am connected via a sibling's descendants).

Birth
14 05 1894 - 89 Cornwallis Road, Islington, London, UK

Marriage
13 10 1912 - St Marks Church, Islington, London, UK

Death
15 03 1930 - Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital, St Pancras, London, UK


Found the birth records for two children:

1. Harry William Webster
22 10 1912 - Islington, London, England

2. Reginald Harry Webster
02 12 1913 - Islington, London, England

HW's date of birth matches that recorded in a baptism document.

But there is a "British Army WW1 Pension Records 1914-1920" document that says HW's birth date to be 13 06 1909...

I think it is just a clerical error on the soldier's record. Got the child dob muddled with day and month of Harry snr

It might have been a matter of pride.

Harry (senior) and Nellie married 13 October 1912 son Harry William was born 22 October 1912

But the record appears to show he was born 3 years before they married, when Nellie would be 15 !

Yes I saw that.

The form also doesn't give a marriage date although they usually do. There is also no birth date for Nellie, so if he fibbed to make it look more presentable who was to know.

The form I'm looking at (Ancestry) shows marriage date as 13 or 18/10/12. Not very clear

The actual marriage certificate has date 13 October 1912 at St Mark

Her father john
His father William

Nellie was 18 Harry was 22.
