"Due to high stress on the server, the search function has been automatically and temporarily disabled. Please try again in a short while."
I have been constantly getting this message for the past several days. What's up?
-
Not only the search function, which sometimes works... sometimes doesn't.
I also get this if I want to look at my profile to see my posts
An Error Has Occurred!
Please try again later. This member's posts are not currently available due to high load on the server.
Added - as above sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Been near a week of hit and miss.

Meanwhile, almost nobody is using these boards as compared with some years back....
-
I have not had this problem but I find the Topic Replies are arriving late. Last night I cleared my in-box about 23.00, this morning there were five replies from earlier times, back to 17.00.

Same thing happened to me this morning!

This is also happening to me.
I have also had the same problem as Cas, getting the same message when trying to access my profile.

Something else just happened- Replied to this topic then hit unnotify button, read other topics (hit unnotify on a few of them also) and logged out. Just got notification of Jebber's post and when I logged back in now the unnotify button is there (instead of saying notify).
-
Now I have just received two notifications of Aghadowey’s reply.
-
I also found it frustrating attempting to use the "SEARCH" facility.
Meanwhile, almost nobody is using these boards as compared with some years back....
Yes, you're right - number of members who login these days has reduced dramatically.
Makes one wonder how the system can be so "stressed" with such limited use.
-
Yes, I have unexpectedly received some of these messages as well.
-
I am glad I'm not on my own Re: "SEARCH" facility
I tried to use the "SEARCH" facility and drew complete blank.
I wonder when this will be sorted !

And me, "An Error has occurred" when I try the search feature.
Better than the patronising "We're sorry" on Ancestry error messages. ;)
-
Just tried a search for an old post of mine and that worked, as did looking at my own and another profile, so maybe it's sorted now :) Edited: apologies i can look at profiles but not at posts made. But the search worked.
Slightly surprised as i have had numerous IT issues in work for the last few weeks :(
-
I can't see any indication that these problems have been reported to the people who can resolve them, so I have reported it to the moderator who will, in turn pass it to an Admin.
As its the weekend I am not expecting a quick resolution.

I think it's pestered out since Covid, but I don't know why. Increasingly I use more specific groups (especially technical DNA and genetic ones) on Facebook, mainly only the ones with attentive administration.

Now that we received a PM from a member alerting us to the topic regarding the problem we can have a look at it for you :)

Hi all,
Hopefully, things are better after running a couple of maintenance tasks.

Thank you Trystan :)
I don't appear to be getting the stress message anymore.

Thanks Trystan and Sarah .

Many thanks Trystan :)
-
Thanks Sarah and Trystan, everything seems to be running normally again.
-
Getting no error message now.
Thank you Trystan & Sarah, appreciate it was sorted so quickly.
Cas

Thanks! It seems to be working smoothly for me, too.
-
Thanks for all your messages - glad to see that did the trick.
Enjoy!

Thank you, Trystan and Sarah. We can always rely on you to sort things out. :D
-
I'm afraid I've just got the message again. For me it's been happening on and off when I click New Replies - presumably because filtering them to see which threads I've contributed to takes a bit of processing power. Clicking Unread Posts always seems to work OK.
-
It seems to be just failing on the new replies option for me too. Others seem OK. Thanks for /* sorting out the others/ T & S
-
I've given it a little more of a tweak. Is that working now?
Regards,
Trystan

Lovely :)
Thanks Trystan
-
If I try to view my, or anyone else's, prior posts, I am still getting the message:
An Error Has Occurred!
Please try again later. This member's posts are not currently available due to high load on the server.
-
That's odd as all the search features, etc. are working for me now. This includes doing searches and listing my own and other members' previous posts whether I'm off or on line.

Maybe it depends on the time of day and the number of people using the site. I've tried looking for a few different listings just now and not had any problems.
-
My thanks to T and S
All working fine for me now...
Regards Tomm
-
Thanks all - glad that it's mostly working better.
The warning may well come now and again, but hopefully less often.
Cheers,
Trystan

Thanks, Trystan.
