Title: Alexander family of Middlewich
Post by: Gabriel 54 on Sunday 21 April 24 17:00 BST (UK)
Humfrey Alexander, of Middlewich, born c 1660, married Sarah Percival - They had at least one child, Sarah + 9/9/1727, who married 1687/88 my ancestor Randle/Ralph Pickmore. Does anyone have access to any further information on Humfrey and his wife Sarah?

Hi,

You posted a request yesterday:

And several people have looked into this for you, but you have not acknowledged their responses or thanked them for their help.

It would be kind of you to do so before embarking on a new area of research.

Could I just clarify a few things?:

I can see the marriage between Sara Allexander and Raphe Pickmoore [sic] on 20th January 1688 in Middlewich, and their subsequent children:
Mary (1689)
Martha (1690)
Ralph (1692)
Ann (1695)
Hannah & Martha (1698) - no mother's name

But the only baptism I can see of a Sarah Alexander in Middlewich was on 24th January 1635; father is Humfrey Alexander. This cannot possibly be your Sarah, as she would not be able to bear children at 63. Is there another baptism I am missing?

Also, I imagine Sarah was born around 1657-1667, so how can her father be born c.1660? Did you mean he married around 1660?

Yes, I get your point Queenie! I think Humf was married c 1660 - but as you say it does not quite gel - apologies, by the way, for my tardiness, I am doing up a huge Victorian house and it is taking up a lot of time! I will think on and look up Merrells index which might help! Thank you for your input much appreciated.
