The attached photo was found in my first generation, South African grandfather's possessions (L W H James (1894-1979)). I know they are not his parents who emigrated in the 1890's to SA where he was born, but could these be his paternal grandparents, or earlier still, who remained UK based?. They were William James (1829-1904) and Louisa (nee Bunce) (1831-1907).
There is very little evidence to help you, only hairstyles and limited apparel but I should be grateful for any ideas you may have. Thank you.

Better if we could see unsquashed versions.
In the meantime I would suggest 1870's.

Thank you for your response and I apologise for the squashed picture. The electronic version was normal on my PC and I cannot say why it uploaded that way. I struggle with technology so am very grateful to Peter for correcting the photographs. That is exactly how they look on my PC Peter.
Thank you both for your responses. Both are useful!
Warmest wishes
