If anyone has access to Tameside marriage records would it please be possible to lookup the marriage of Barbara King to Laurence Anthony Wilcocks in April 1978

Rootschat has a strict no living persons policy - are either of these people still alive? If so - you need to remove their names from your post to protect their privacy.
To look up a marriage - you need to know which church it took place in. If it was a Registry office marriage it cannot be looked up
Your simplest way would to be to buy a copy of the cert

They are no longer alive and unfortunately I don't know where they were married. Requesting the certificate looks like the option.

I'm interested in who was Barbara's she was illegitimate born in Bridgend Glamorgan.( I have her birth certificate her name was Barbara Eileen Jones) no father shown. Mother was Ellen Ceinwen Jones. Barbara was said to have been brought up by someone she knew as Grandad King. I can't find any connection to anyone called King.

I haven't been able to find her in 1939. She was living with Frank Connor (they never married) in 1944 when their daughter was born in Harrow on the Hill Middlesex and then Ashton Under Lyne when their later three children were born.

Barbara Eileen Jones was raised in Ogmor Bridgend Glamorgan and seems to disappear until 1944 when she is living with Frank Connor in Harrow Middlesex

It is a puzzle as to where she was in 1939.

A tree on Ancestry shows Ellen Ceinwen Jones married Thomas Smith b 19.3.1894 in 1928. Ellen was b 1905 so quite a big age difference. The tree says they had one daughter & the inference is that it was Barbara. 1939 entry for Thomas & Ellen has no redacted entry

Thomas Smith is shown in 1939 Electoral Register at 25 John Street,Nantymoel, Price Town, Ogmore and Garw Glamorganshire, Wales with wife C. Ellen Smith b. 19 Feb 1905 Unpaid Domestic Duties Married. Barbara is not living with them.

Ellen, mother to Barbara, is with her grandparents in 1911 and they are at the same address in 1939.
I suspect that the redacted entry with them is not Barbara but another child of the Keagle family.
Might she have been raised by someone in that family?
I have tried to look at redacted entries with King families in Bridgend but haven’t succeeded in finding Barbara.

I am not sure if the 1939 register is no longer updated to remived the redacted entries after that person has died.
As Barbara was born in 1922 and would be 21 yrs in 1943, she would not appear on electoral registers
until after the war. By that time, she would be Mrs Connor, perhaps?
I hope her marriage details to Laurence Wilcocks can give more details but she may not give a father’s name at all.
I wonder if there are any school records existing in the local,area?

The 1939 register should be redacted on FindMyPast as she would now be over 100 years old.

I am not aware that they have stopped doing it, I understood it was done quarterly by FindMyPast. There is still the facility to ask them to open or close records on that database.

Can’t see her at the moment. Of course, she would be 17yrs and may be away working anywhere.

Is there an address for the 1944 child’s birth? How is Barbara described there with surnames? I can see King is mother’s name on the birth entry.
There are online electoral registers for Harrow in 1946.
