Hi
I have found an ancestor William Dixon on census records.
I would like to find a marriage and baptism and possibly take it back to his parents
I have him on the 1861 census living with wife Ellen and 5 children.
They are in West Derby
Household schedule number 48
Piece 2703
Folio 66

Many thanks for any further info on this person

This looks like the correct family.
As it is his daughter Ann Dixon I am following. And a couple of generations below Ann, there is a middle name if Molyneux
Thankyou 😊

1851 the family are in Toxteth Park, Ellen, Sarah, John and Ann bn Crosby

So interesting.
Is it possible they got married in 1874? ???

It is easy to check the GRO index for birth registrations of possible children following marriages which makes it easier to track them down on the following census. As I mentioned they were registering births
DIXON, JAMES mmn MOLYNEUX
GRO Reference: 1877 S Quarter in PRESCOT Volume 08B Page 708
In 1881 that family are at

Thank you Ladyhawk, it does look as though we are duplicating information you have already provided

Many thanks for your replies.
Yes it is the same family.
I was trying to take it further back than William.
Marriage and birth of William and then parents..
Many thanks for your help :)

It might be a good idea to go back to your other post as there is more information on there since you last posted
