Title: Limerick baptism 1859 Stein/Sproule

Understand a John Stein and Mary Sproule were the parents of a child baptised in St Marys Cathedral in 1859. Have I any hope of getting confirmation of this baptism ?

You could help yourself and others by specifying the denomination. From the name of the Cathedral I gather it is Church of Ireland.

Baptism records 1726-1875 for St Mary's are still in local custody.

RootsIreland seem to have transcripts for St. Mary's Church of Ireland Limerick city, might be worth checking.

RootsIreland has entries for 3 children baptized 1859, same father, but mother Mary Sroul/Sproul.

Illegitimate children, last two born less than a month before he married the 17 yo daughter of a parson.

The father, John Stein, died in Dublin in 1884. Can be sure it is him as death registered by son Croker Stein.

Mary Sproule had daughter Jane Cawthorne born 1868. Same street as where the illegitimate George Stein died in 1869.
