That article certainly took some time to find, but well worth the search. A little bit of very interesting History on the Fletchers.
Thank you.

Glad you found it - I nearly gave up but find details of familes so interesting

We now have Hugh Fletcher b 1770 died 1848 married to Hannah Derbyshire . From the article that
Kay99 found he was a land holder with Mile Ash farm in the 1830's
There is every possibility that the family may have been in the area for some time .
Is it possible to find a birth for Hugh and his fathers name ?

Attaching a copy of the 1841 census which sadly lists Hugh Snr as not born in the county - Derbyshire Apologies I should have noted this when I posted details of the 1841 census

This looks like a possible marriage for Hugh Snr - residence Alstree nr Derby?

That certainly looks likely with Hugh snr Marriage being in Staffordehire,
Perhaps he was born in Staffordshre.
I have that there was a daughter Eliza Fletcher, baptised in Derbyshire in 1801 April 5th father Hugh and Hannah.
Hannah's surname "Derbyshire" certainly leads to confusion.

It is confusing and to add to it I found this baptism on Anc
Hannah Derbyshire
Baptism Date 4 Apr 1773 Darley, Derbyshire
Father Thomas Derbyshire
Mother Elizabeth Derbyshire

There is a will for Hugh Fletcher (senior) that can be found on FindMyPast, which was was made in 1843.
Hugh Fletcher, the elder, Farmer, of Miles Ash near Darley Abbey.
Named are - Hannah Fletcher (wife), Hugh Fletcher (son), James Blackwell (son-in-law, Derby Inn Keeper), John Derbyshire (Grandson) and Emma Derbyshire (Granddaughter).
Probate granted to Hugh Fletcher (son) and Hannah Fletcher (widow) 9th October1849.

The will details leave me confused again. I have that Hugh had a daughter Eliza, possibly she has married james Blackwell.
But the Derbyshie names confuse me once again as Grandchildren. Maybe they are christian names ?
and are the children of Hugh's son John. From the gravestone for Hugh it also names John 's death as 1855.

You have done well to unravel that relationship.
A sad afterthought neither Emma or John Fletcher Derbyshire lived long enough to receive the bequest from their Grandfather Hugh. His will was written 1843 and Probate was issued 1849.
I have found another baptism for an Anne Fletcher with Father Hugh and Mother Hannah

Yes it is sad that John and Emma died before they inherited their bequest. Hugh referred to them as his dear grandchildren in his will. Maybe Elizabeth and her children lived with her parents when she was widowed before remarrying??
Sadly Hugh and Hannah's child Ann appears to have died when young -
