Post by: meno on Wednesday 06 March 24 00:44 GMT (UK)
Hi, i have applied for records of my grandmother who, along with her sister was put into goldenbridge school in the 1930s, i was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to get a response from the sisters of mercy? will i have to jump through hoops to get their records? EX:give them a dna sample to prove i am a her grand daughter etc, would i need to apply for freedom information act etc etc

Hi Meno, and welcome  :)

The only Goldenbridge School I can find was in Ireland. It was not a nice place according to this entry on Wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Vincent%27s_Industrial_School,_Goldenbridge

If this is the place you are researching I can move this topic across to the Ireland Board where the local experts will be able to help you.

Please let me know.
