Hello. I am wondering if one of you kind people with knowledge of Cumberland could please help with this.
Mary Elizabeth GRAHAM was born around 1883 in Maryport, Cumberland, the daughter of Joseph GRAHAM. I know this from her marriage registration (under the name Mary Elizabeth MCGOVERN in South Australia in 1928). She married on 3 November 1928 aged 45 years (birth c1883). She died on 19 December 1980 aged 97 years (birth c1883). Further details on sources are available here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Graham-16368.
I am unclear which registration district Maryport would have been in, as Maryport itself is not a district (https://www.freebmd.org.uk/county-map.html).
Assuming the approximate year of birth and locality are correct, she could be one of the following (From FreeBMD):
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Births Mar 1882 (>99%)
GRAHAM Mary Elizabeth Penrith 10b 396
GRAHAM Mary Elizabeth Cockermouth 10b 510
Births Jun 1882 (>99%)
GRAHAM Mary Elizabeth Whitehaven 10b 601
Births Sep 1882 (>99%)
GRAHAM Mary Elizabeth Carlisle 10b 494
Births Dec 1883 (>99%)
GRAHAM Mary Elizabeth Cockermouth 10b 556
GRAHAM Mary Elizabeth Carlisle 10b 481
Births Mar 1884 (>99%)
Graham Mary Elizabeth Penrith 10b 446
Births Sep 1884 (>99%)
GRAHAM Mary Elizabeth Longtown 10b 490
Thanks for any guidance

Corresponding entry in Catholic marriage record at St Anne's, Liverpool, names her father as Joseph Graham.

Thank you. Unfortunately, the public SA arrival records (searchable passenger lists) end in 1924 (https://www.archives.sa.gov.au/finding-information/discover-our-collection/migration-and-crew/immigration-passenger-lists). But I might be able to see when she arrived in Australia from her death registration (forthcoming).

Which explains why no children were mentioned on her death notice in 1980, perhaps no grandchildren (tbd).

For interest, there are quite a few mentions on trove about the Berrima voyage in 1927/28 which brought a number of "boy migrants" to South Australia. It was also delayed due to bad weather, and the 2nd engineer died on the voyage.
