Where have you searched so far?

I would have started with Dumfries and Galloway Archives http://archives.dumgal.gov.uk/calmview/

I wonder if there might be a heritage group of some sort - maybe on some social media, like Facebook?

Do you know when it was demolished, and who owned it?

Is this the same farm (site) as the existing Newbridge farm just off the A76 and across the road from Lochside Industrial Estates? If so there does seem to be an older house at the western corner of the site. It’s hidden by a hedge on street view, but the chimney stack looks old. When was the building that interests you demolished?

Added: looking at the layout of this farm on the 1900 6 inch OS map there isn’t an obvious candidate for the building I describe above, but the road alignment looks a little different too, so it isn’t clear how easy it is to compare.

This side by side map view compares the old layout of farm and road with the current satellite view:

The straightening of the road is clear, and there is a trace of the old road just to the east of the A76 on the satellite image. That would place the house in the western corner of the modern site right on the old road-side, but clearly none of the buildings shown on the OS map match that position, so I think that my "house behind the hedge" may be later.
