Hi,
My family and I are trying to find the parents names for Ann Johnson born around 1774 Muggington.
On the 1st December 1794 she married a John Garratt.
After lots of searching we’ve found no baptism for her or anything :(
If anyone could help, this would be so helpful for us.
Thank you

Possible baptism in Kirk Langley, about 3 miles from Mugginton
Ann Johnson 1 January 1772 parents John and Ellen

There is an Ann Garratt buried in Mugginton 2 December 1848 aged 78 who looks a likely candidate for your lady.

Hi and thank you for your reply
That’s something to look at, thank you so much for both these records.
3 miles isn’t too far, I wonder if this could be her?

John Garratt and Ann Johnson's marriage was witnessed by Robert Johnson and Ralph Johnson.
John and Ellen children had (at least) the following children:
- Ellen (1766), baptised in Kirk Langley.
- Ralph (1768), do.
- Robert (1770), do.
- Ann (1772), do. (as mentioned by emeltom)
- Elizabeth (1774), baptised in Mugginton.
- Samuel (1777), do.
- William (1783), do.
Looks as though John and Ellen moved their family (back?) to Mugginton sometime between Ann's baptism and Elizabeth's.
Always helpful to look at the witnesses to a marriage, as they are often relatives of either the bride or groom.
John Johnson married Ellen Barnes on 1st November 1765 in Mugginton. Don't want to spoil the fun of research for you, but in case you don't have access to FindMyPast, the marriage licence states she is of Weston Underwood in Mugginton, is a minor aged 19 years, and marries with the consent of her father, John Barnes. John Johnson is a farmer of Ravensdale Park in Mugginton, aged 45 years and a widower.

Hi Queenie
Oh wow , thank you so much for finding all this for me.
I don’t have findmypast so I really do appreciate you helping me.
There’s a bit of a difference in age between them both.
It’s so nice to receive new information. I’d never have found this.
Thank you once again :)
