Title: Robinson, Robertson, Roberson interchangeability
Post by: probinson on Wednesday 07 February 24 09:20 GMT (UK)
I've been following my Robinson ancestry but have come to a point where the name seems to become Robertson or Roberson. This was in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Was this normal for the names to be interchanged? Anyone else experienced this? Anyone know the reason? Any information welcome.

You haven't given any indication as to where your ancestors lived but in Ulster & Scotland is quite common for Robinson and Robertson to be used interchangeably.
