Hi, is it possible to look up a divorce date? I’m pretty sure I know roughly when and the relevant court.
And if yes, which sites allow a free lookup as I haven’t got access to a paid site right now.

Divorces can be a bit tricky.
If you just want the date I'd try the National archives first.

Divorce records 1858-1918 for England and Wales are online at Ancestry but that's pay to view unless your local library has a subscription in which case they are free.

You can search the TNA catalogue for divorce files up to 1937 ... look at series J 77 (most will be there, but not  quite 100%)

After 1937 there is no available index - you have to order a copy of the decree absolute by application to HMCTS

My mother's next door neighbour divorced her husband late 1950s.  I rememb er  her asking my mother what happened next. The divorce nisi was published in that evening's newspaper and my mother told her that her divorce absolute would be in six weeks time.

If the couple got together after the divorce nisi and before the divorce absolute then they were still legally married.
