Title: Copy of a Will

Hi

I'm trying to get a copy of a will - death date 1893 - probate date 1894 - Lancaster (Administration with will).   I've tried the GOV.uk site but is coming up with no results.

The website you need to use is

Probatesearch.service.gov.uk

You have to create an account.  If you have done all this, check the spelling of the person you want. I couldn't find one yesterday, but the way I had spelled the surname wasn't quite the same as on the will.

Hi Rosie

It is for Samuel Laycock of 50 Foxhall Road, Blackpool - confectioner - died 15 December 1893 Administration (with will) Lancaster 13 March to Eliza Laycock widow, effects £405 13s 3d.
I've been on the probatesearch site and it brings up a Samuel Laycock but not the right one.

Try changing the search year to 1894.

Thank you, that's what I did in the end.   They don't make it easy for you  :)
