Most records I've found suggest she's Melinda or similar, as per the image you've attached.
-
parish marriage is on the Forest of Dean site
https://forest-of-dean.net/joomla/
12 Nov 1865 Aston Ingham, his father Benjamin, master mason, and hers William Davis, collier, witnesses Thomas Aubrey & Elizabeth Aubrey.
-
The obvious fit is Melinda Davis, daughter of George and Jane. Born c1843 In Longney, living there with her parents on 1851
Piece 1963, folio 7, p7
1861 - visiting the Merritt family in Gloucester
b c1842, Longley
Piece 1765, folio 8, p9
However, I don;'t think this is yours, as she's from the other side of the river from the Forest, and censuses after she's married suggest she's from Ruardean area, Also there's a marriage in 1882 in Gloucester of a Melinda Davis, b c1842, father George. She's with her future husband, using his name, in 1881, and is b Longney
At least she's counted out!

This looks more likely - the name may have mutated over the years
Belinda Davis
Baptism 7 Jan 1844 Drybrook, Holy Trinity,
Father William Davis, collier
Mother Phebe Davis
1851 - Ruardean Woodside
Phoebe Davis 49, widow
William Davis 21
Ellen Davis 14
Edwin Davis 12
Eliza Davis 9
Meleuda Davis 7 - as per Ancestry index. Image looks like Melinda - definitely an M at the start
Emanuel Gardiner 22 lodger
-
possible in 1851 with widowed mother
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGKL-TGD
baptism 7 Jan 1844 Belinda daughter of William & Phoebe Davis of Ruardean Woodside, William a collier.
red post! Snap!
-
And 1861, again in Ruardean Woodside
Cornelious Goode 60
Phaba Goode 61
Edwin Davis 22
Belenba Davis 17 - definitely a B at the start this time
-
on her marriage to Cornelius Goode 22 Aug 1852 Parkend, Phoebe's father is noted as Edward Cookson, labourer.
-
1841 census
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7MF-3TL
In the same address, but a different household is Edward Cooksey 65 who is probably Phoebe's father.
Baptism Ruardean 19 Oct 1800 Pheby daughter of Edward & Betty Cooksey.
Possible marriage English Bicknor 10 May 1795 Edward Cooksey & Elizabeth Bordley
-
marriage 10 Oct 1821 Abenhall William Davis, widower & Phoebe Cookcy both living St Briavels.

Many thanks for your replies and links loads of info ;)
I was thinking that as Benjamin and Melinda were quoted as possible tent dwellers Melinda might of been a relative or in some way related to the Romany Davis family of fod maybe they was just on hard times? I notice Ruardean woodside doesnt seem far from Lynbrook where Davis Romany family were from ?
-
Where did you find them as tent dwellers? They are not on any of the census returns.
???
-
Tent Dwellers has been added to that image at the beginning of this post. Looking at the census images there is no indication of there being tents in the area.
